The secret behind the amazing foods coming out of our Tara Firma Farms' kitchen goes beyond the great meats we are raising. It's often the work of Tommy Ussery and his custom built smoker. Tommy began his career about 20 years ago with a $30 water smoker in his wooded backyard in Potter Valley, Mendocino. What started as an interest, turned hobby with some serious time spent at BBQ competitions up and down the coast and has since grown into legend status.
While competing, Tommy had a great deal of success with his recipes, winning a few of the local events including:
2007 - BEST TASTE OVERALL - at the Blues & BBQ Festival in San Rafael.
2008 - 2nd Place - Best Chicken at the Russian River Beer, Revival and BBQ featuring 35 teams.
Tommy's Team "Swami Tommy BBQ Experience" has led to the development of various favorite products such as Swami Tommy's award winning BBQ Sauce and three different rubs
